North Pole Expedition
For the first time, spanish pilots are flying over the Geographical North Pole in a hot air balloon. The expedition had the logistical support of the Russian Arctic Force, the only one prepared to operate in the Pole.
LG Electronics and Magno cosponsored the Spanish team which achieved this record with the “LG Flatron” aircraft.
The dates chosen for the expedition corresponded with the most stable meteorological season. With 24 of continuous sunshine, gentle to moderate winds and no storms are forecasted, which is basic as the balloons cannot be steered and to achieve the goal it only depends on the performance of the pilots expertise to choose the best launch point based on the prevailing winds.
